    As the Standards Officer, Craig oversees the dress, drill, and deportment of the youth (age 12-18) and adults with the Squadron.

    As the Public Affairs Representative Craig oversees the Squadron’s community outreach, communications, and social media presence.

    Craig redesigned the Squadron’s website, and oversees their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram presence.

  • 04

    Under Craig’s guidance 292 RCACS received front page news in the Metro Halifax. Craig’s leadership development work is guided by a few key resources, including The Change Handbook, Pedagogy Unbound, verbal judo, Cadets Canada Leadership material.

Regional Cadet Support Unit (Atlantic)

    Craig serves as Directing Staff with the Regional Cadet Instructor School (Atlantic). Canadian Armed Forces, Cadet Instructors Cadre Officers, are taught at this school.

  • 02

    Craig also serves as a regional Unit Public Affairs Representative. Most recently as the Nova Scotia Biathlon competition liaison.

  • 03

    Craig has presented to regional officer’s on Tips & Tricks to social media (handout available upon request). These two videos (1, 2) highlight the need for enhanced social media awareness.

    Craig has been on the radio, as well as television (1,2), promoting the cadet program. He has also arranged media articles (1,2,3,4) on the program.


Fusion Halifax Sustainability Action Team

    Craig attends monthly meetings to discuss sustainability projects in Halifax.

  • 02

    Craig moved home to Nova Scotia to help his province be successful now, and in the future. This is one organization Craig is engaging with to try and make a difference.

    Craig also contributes to online discussions with the Personality Factor Action team (PFAT).

    PFAT helps young professionals in Halifax “build connections, skills, and careers (learn more).

Mood, Anxiety, Addiction, and Co-morbidity (MAAC) Lab

    Craig is a Project Manager with the lab. He currently works out of the IWK Health Centre at the Centre for Research in Family Health.

    Craig is currently overseeing the development of a web-based treatment program for youth and young adults (14-35) with depression and problem gambling.

  • 03

    This work involves overseeing ethics applications, connecting with community stakeholders, conducting key stakeholder interviews, and writing reports.

    Craig’s past work with the MAAC Lab has involved overseeing the Dalhousie Caring Campus Project-a Movember Foundation funded initiative on campus (more below).

    This company is a positive mental health messaging company. They promote positive mental health initiatives, and provide support for those with mental health challenges.

Canning Area Food Bank

    Craig is currently conducting an organizational review of the food bank.

  • 02

    This is being done at no charge to the food bank as a way to give back to the area where Craig grew up.

  • 03

    This project involves a document review, community outreach (including with Feed Nova Scotia), key stakeholder and client interviews, and writing a final report.

  • 04

    This review will allow for best-practices in food security in the area to be gathered, the functionality of current practices to be understood, and potential areas for alignment.

Dalhousie PROsocial Project

    Craig currently acts as an advisor to the project. In the past he was the Site Coordinator for the project, when it was funded by the Movember Foundation.

  • 02

    This project designs, and implements, student-led initiatives to address the harm caused by alcohol, and to improve student mental health.

  • 03

    This project was a part of the Caring Campus Project.

  • 04

    Craig was able to secure funding for the project to continue for another year. He also presented on his evaluation of the Caring Campus Project at the project’s Forum.

    Craig led an evaluation of the Saskatoon Mental Health Strategy Court (here). Craig supervised a law student, and worked with stakeholders from a number of organizations.

  • 02

    Craig contributed to a Saskatchewan RCMP Detachment Planning project. This project projected future needs for policing in the province.

  • 03

    Craig visited Edmonton to conduct stakeholder interviews for a Housing First initiative.

  • 04

    Craig also conducted literature reviews, stakeholder interviews, and statistical analysis for a number of other projects.

    Craig served as the Deputy Commanding Officer, Training Officer, marksmanship coach, and Unit Public Affairs Representative.

  • 02

    Craig designed the website for 107 RCACS. He also improved their social media presence (Facebook, Twitter).

  • 03

    Craig appeared on Global Saskatoon to promote their efforts.

  • 04

    Craig also designed an annual feedback survey that help understand what youth in the program had to say in an anonymous format.

    Craig served as the Training Officer, marksmanship coach, and Administration Officer with 632 RCACS throughout his years in Ottawa.

  • 02

    This unit was, and still is, over 120 youth strong. Craig’s organizational skills became very developed in his roles with 632 RCACS.

    Craig took the time in Ottawa to develop his instructional and public speaking abilities while working with such a large group.
